Discover how far the mercy of the Lord reaches
Throughout Scripture, God declared that His mercy and love toward us has no limits. And He is willing to prove it! Let’s discuss the great extent of God’s mercy.
Seeing God’s mercy in a whole new way
Our world is a broken place. But there is an answer for the sin and failure we see in the world around us, and even in ourselves. Let’s explore God’s mercy, and find the abundant grace and hope we desperately need!
Let’s discuss the one prayer God always answers, “Lord, have mercy”
How is it that the most evil sinner and the most compassionate saint can both experience the undeserved love of God? The answer is found in the concept of “mercy.” It’s the start of a brand-new series.
Unintentional
When I was returning our grandson Alex to his family after a visit, the traffic seemed especially challenging. Fast-maneuvering cars blocked me from the correct toll lane, forcing me to go through a lane where only cars with a prepaid pass are permitted, which I didn’t have. Alex told me that my license plate would be photographed and a ticket might be mailed to me. I was frustrated because a penalty would have to be paid even though my infraction was unintentional.
The Telltale Heart
Recently I read about a private investigator in the US who would knock on a door, show his badge to whoever answered, and say, “I guess we don’t have to tell you why we’re here.” Many times, the person would look stunned and say, “How did you find out?” then go on to describe an undiscovered criminal act committed long ago. Writing in Smithsonian magazine, Ron Rosenbaum described the reaction as “an opening for the primal force of conscience, the telltale heart’s internal monologue.”
Buyer’s Remorse
Have you ever experienced buyer’s remorse? I have. Just prior to making a purchase, I feel the surge of excitement that comes with getting something new. After buying the item, however, a wave of remorse sometimes crashes over me. Did I really need this? Should I have spent the money?

Gain a better understanding of post-abortion trauma and find hope to move forward in life as counselor Tim Jackson examines its cause and offers an avenue to forgiveness, healing, and restoration through God’s redemptive love.
Embarrassing Moments
The flashing lights of the police car drew my attention to a motorist who had been pulled over for a traffic violation. As the officer, ticket book in hand, walked back to his car, I could clearly see the embarrassed driver sitting helplessly behind the wheel of her car. With her hands, she attempted to block her face from the view of passersby—

It’s hard to believe that a perfect God would accept us solely on the basis of Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins. Can it really be that easy?
Let’s take a look at God’s remarkable forgiveness towards those who least deserve it

The Rules Of Disengagement
In her book Throw Out Fifty Things, Gail Blanke outlines four “Rules of Disengagement” to help people clear the clutter from their lives. The first rule states: “If it . . . weighs you down, clogs you up, or just plain makes you feel bad about yourself, throw it out, give it away, sell it, let it go, move on.”
Jesus’ parable of forgiveness
Paying off our credit card balance may be doable. Paying off the national debt all by ourselves, well that’s impossible! Let's discuss the magnitude of our own spiritual debt, and who has the capacity to clear our balance.
The story of a compassionate king and a debt-ridden servant
A good story can help us understand important principles in a fresh new way. Let's turn our attention to a parable from Jesus that puts the issue of unlimited forgiveness into practical perspective.
How the original ending of the Lord’s Prayer reinforces an important biblical principle
Most of us learned to end the Lord’s Prayer with the phrase, “Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever, Amen.” Yet if you look at Jesus’ teaching of the prayer in Scripture you’ll find a very different ending!
