Staying strong, staying close
Dear Friends,
A third wave of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has resulted in some changes to our ministry. Firstly, our resource centres in Subang Jaya and Kota Kinabalu are closed throughout the CMCO period as they are both located in Covid Red Zones. The purported end date is 9 November for Subang Jaya and 13 November for Sabah, but as we all know, the situation remains volatile.
Subang Jaya update
This has meant some changes to our Discovery House Distributors (DHD) clearance book sales, which we organise every year in the run up to Christmas. The sale has now been postponed, which we will update at a later date on social media and via WhatsApp.

Kota Kinabalu update
In Sabah, our Pedoman Harian 2021 annual edition sales, which is Our Daily Bread in Bahasa Malaysia, has also been put on hold. Our colleagues continue to work from home and play their part in bringing out more Bahasa resources. One of these is Building a Bridge, a campaign to produce and translate more discipleship materials, children’s books etc. for indigenous churches in Sabah and Sarawak.
Johor Bahru update
Thankfully, our main hub in Johor Bahru remains open. Staff have returned to work since July in stages with strict SOPs in place. With many year-end projects in the pipeline, we are thankful for a handful of volunteers who have been willing to come back into the office to help with packing.
Closed, but still close to God
The experience of going through the first MCO in March this year has meant we’ve learnt to adapt and are better prepared this time round. We’ve moved many of our resources online and have even set up a Covid-specific webpage to strengthen faith, build community and support others. We’ve also made our outreach booklets available to download as PDFs, so that you may continue to share the Gospel with others.

Though two of our physical offices in Malaysia may be closed, we thank God that He is never closed or out of office! As an all-seeing, all-knowing and all-powerful God, He is accessible anywhere, anytime. As such, we can still get close and stay close to Him despite lockdown measures. We pray that you will draw ever nearer to His love, joy and strength throughout these challenging times.
