What are we doing during this MCO?
Dear Friends,
In recent days, with almost every country facing the Covid-19 pandemic, questions are being asked by many. Where is God in all this? Is he powerless to stop the current crisis? Does he not love us enough to step in? On the flip side, we’ve been hearing testimonies of believers drawing closer to the Lord as they seek Him daily. Naturally, Christians should turn to Scriptures for help, comfort and encouragement.
In the past one and a half months, our team has been working on various projects from home. These include:
Uploading various resources online in English, Chinese and BM that speaks of hope and trust in the Lord. An example is ‘After the Storm’ by Ajith Fernando.
Answering all your emails and Whatsapp messages as best as we can, including sending e-receipts for any donations received.
Producing a series of ‘weekly videos in Chinese’, featuring short teachings from various local pastors.
Completing the revision of ‘Siri Pemuridan’ our discipleship series in BM consisting of five booklets in the first series.
Completing the BM and Iban translation of children’s book ‘God’s Big Story’.

Completing the BM proofreading for a book on sexuality, targeted at young people.
Please pray with us for the funds needed to launch the print projects mentioned above. When the MCO is lifted, we plan to begin printing and distributing them.
When the MCO is lifted, we will also be busy with packing the June-July-August issues of Our Daily Bread and Journey Through Series. It usually takes one month to complete all our packing, but not all volunteers may be able to come in. Therefore, our staff will be at hand to pack and ensure on-time delivery. One of our priorities is to mail to Sabah and Sarawak first, as it takes longer to reach our readers there. So, kindly be patient with us as we anticipate some delays.
In the meantime, here are some Discovery Series titles on prayer that we believe will help, as we learn to pray confidently according to His Word. The rallying call for many church leaders is to seek the Lord through repentance and prayer, in accordance with 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV): "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
For those of you who have friends asking questions and seeking answers, take a look at our Outreach Page. We have close to 50 titles that present the Good News of our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ. You may wish to download it for your reading, or forward it to someone who may need it. If you wish to have printed copies, just write to us at malaysia@odb.org. We do carry some of these titles in print.
Many of you have also asked how we are doing financially during this time. We are supported entirely from local donations by local churches and individuals, and are extremely grateful for all we have received so far. We will do our best to manage our expenses according to what we receive.
