Directly responsible for the overall design and illustrative/graphic /visuals, serve as principle coordinator for graphic design with internal departments and stakeholders, managing a prescribed budget, work collaboratively with the department head and/or contributing authors to realise a final product. 

 

 What You’ll Do:

  1. Coordinate all administrative aspects of production, including preparing final designs for presentation, checking and approving colour, copy, text format separations, and scaling images for production. Ensure that all parties are informed of and meet deadlines. 
  2. Prepare layouts, designs, art work and formats for use. 
  3. Ensure accessibility of all graphics and images to WCAG 2.0 standards. 
  4. Design, lay out and produce artwork such as graphs, maps, charts, PPTs slides etc. as needed. 
  5. May coordinate relationships with vendors and 3rd parties for projects as needed.  
  6. May handle copyright, reprint, and permission processes. 
  7. Have the ability to master new technologies in short timeframes.
  8. Have the ability to multitask while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  9. Have a willingness to embrace the unknown, be flexible and to continually explore and learn in a changing environment.

 

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • College degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design preferred or an equivalent of education plus experience. 
  • Five or more years of graphic arts and publications experience.
  • Specific skills in using graphics design software such as Indesign, Adobe Suite, Editing software etc.  
  • Strong working knowledge of online learning, and graphics art procedures as well as related computer software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a history of positive results achieved collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across complex organisational structures.
  • Experience with existing quality standards for course design (e.g., Quality Matters).
  • Competency in various LMS systems.
