Offering the hope and comfort of God’s Word

Like you, our hearts are breaking for the millions of people in Ukraine who have had their lives turned upside down by the invasion from Russian military forces.

“People are so worried and stressed,” writes Yana Chornenka, the Director of the Ukraine office who has been forced to close the office in Kyiv and flee her home along with millions of others. “It’s not a situation we can solve. We need the Lord to lead us.”

Yet Yana also shares: “We praise God that we’ve had the opportunity to serve people in Ukraine with Our Daily Bread in print and online. It's a big blessing for those on low incomes to receive materials for free. And it's a big encouragement for those who have been separated from their faith communities during this turbulent time.”

However, the future of Our Daily Bread in Ukraine is far from certain. Several of our staff members, including Yana, have become refugees in other countries; others haven’t yet been allowed to leave Ukraine. The office building may not even still be standing.

Our focus right now is firstly to provide for our displaced team who are devastated and homeless. And secondly to arrange with a couple of agencies in Poland to help us print and distribute Our Daily Bread and other resources to the people of Ukraine. These are the two efforts your financial support will go towards when you donate through this page.

It’s a humbling privilege and necessary mission to share the truth and hope of God’s love and forgiveness in these troubling times. Because of your generous support, those who have had their lives turned upside down will be able to hear an encouraging voice each day through Our Daily Bread, directing them to set their hope on Jesus.

A prayer for Ukraine
Heavenly Father, we pray for Your protection over the people of this nation. For those who have fled their homes, please provide places of safety and refuge. And please protect our staff and volunteers who have been forced to leave Kyiv and close the office. May our many readers in Ukraine continue to find hope and encouragement through Your Word and the companionship of Our Daily Bread. Amen

Our mission is to make the life-changing wisdom of the Bible understandable and accessible to all.
