About the Organisation:
Our Daily Bread Ministries exist to make the life-changing wisdom of the Bible understandable and accessible to all. We do this through creating and distributing print, digital, video, and audio resources that help believers grow as disciples of Jesus and deepen their Christian faith.
Position Summary:
You will work with the Australian content development team to produce contextually relevant biblical resources to help people engage with the Bible as well as provide editorial support for the content development team.
Essential functions:
- Produce print and digital content that helps people engage with the Bible, in line with ODB’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
- Write, adapt, edit and proofread content to improve its structure and readability and ensure it meets the ODB tone of voice.
- Work with relevant personnel and external authors to see to the timely completion of projects from acquisitions to marketing to distribution.
- Support the Managing Editor in editorial work including the production of print and digital marketing materials.
- Liaise and build good internal relationships with our digital and ministry teams.
Job Specifications:
Essential knowledge and experience:
- Growing knowledge of the Bible and theology (demonstrated through biblical/theological training whether in a formal theological college, informal church-based training context or other context).
- Experience in writing and editing biblical content or other content such as marketing, academic, or communications materials.
- Good computer skills (preferably good knowledge of Word and Adobe Acrobat).
- Some familiarity with print and digital publishing processes.
Desired characteristics:
- Desire to communicate the Bible to others in an engaging, clear and creative way.
- Eager to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Capacity to manage personal workload with multiple tasks.
- Previous experience working in Not for Profit sector, in particular Christian faith-based ministry.
