But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. ~ 2 Peter 3:8-9
We hear about the fulfillment of God’s promises a lot. But, when will we actually see them come true?
Today in our Lent study, we’re considering the certainty of God’s promises and how their fulfillment doesn’t always look how we’d expect.
Even though when we’re in a difficult season, waiting on God can feel endless, he is still moving and at work in our situations.
It can be hard for us to swallow, but God’s timing is always perfect. In the way of a perfectly loving father, he knows what’s best for us and when to move in our hardship.
Check out this Scripture meditation below for some encouragement for times of waiting.

What This Teaches Us about God
God’s timing is not the same as ours (v. 8)
He doesn’t forget about us (v. 9)
He knows when to act (v. 9)
