Stories of God at Work

from United States

Our Daily Bread devotionals have really been a source of encouragement and spiritual teaching to me as a single mom over the last 14 years. We used your devotionals as a starting point to study God’s Word and discuss biblical and life applications of what we read in our bible and your devotional. I like the uplifting stories as well as the quotes at the bottom. We now, years later, still have church at…

How Could Someone Be So Ignorant!

“The Lord spoke thus to me with a strong hand . . .” (Isaiah 8:11). There is no escape when our Lord speaks. He always comes using His authority and taking hold of our understanding. Embroiled in conflict, it can feel like we’re held captive to our frustration, anger, and strong opinions. What we need is a good hostage negotiator! Let’s look at Abigail as an example of biblical conflict negotiation.

DeHaan quickly captured the attention of listeners in the Detroit area, and eventually the nation. Since then, our audience has grown to millions of people around the world who use our Bible-based resources.

There’s often confusion on what the fruit of the Spirit is and is not. It’s not a list of instructions of how we should live; rather the fruit are qualities we exhibit when we are empowered by the Holy Spirit. We are set free to live a new life in Christ, no longer indulging in selfish desires but enabled to serve…
